The President of Walsh Asset Management, LLC, Tom has spent his entire 35 plus year career in the investment business. His wide array of experience in portfolio management, research, trading, and marketing led him to founding Walsh Asset Management in 1999.
Tom is a Registered Principal of Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. and an Investment Advisor Representative of Cambridge Investment Research Advisors, Inc. He graduated from St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, The Farmer School of Business at Miami University with a Bachelor of Science in Business/Finance, and The Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University, where he received an MBA in Finance.
He is the co-founder and Chief Investment Officer of Duncan Walsh Advisors, which provides investment portfolios to the 130 advisors of the Duncan Advisor Resources branch within Cambridge Investment Research. He is the Co-Chairman of the Investment Policy Committee of Duncan Financial Group in Irwin, PA.
Tom is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a member of the CFA Society Cincinnati. As a Visiting Instructor of Finance at Miami University's Farmer School of Business, Tom taught Principles of Investments and Securities Markets to seniors and graduate students on the Oxford campus from 2000-02. His unique presentation style and emphasis on the practical applications of investment analysis consistently earned him high ratings from his students. He advised the Green Envy Investment Club at Mariemont High School from 2008-13.
He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Cincinnati USA Sports Commission which was formed in 1989 to identify, bid, acquire and manage sporting events in the region. Tom is the former President of the Miami Red & White Club, the national fundraising organization for Miami University Athletics, and chaired the organizing committee for the 1996 NCAA Hockey Championships held in Cincinnati. He coached basketball for Mariemont Junior High School from 2013-18.
A lifelong resident of Cincinnati, Tom grew up in Mt. Lookout and currently resides in Mariemont with his wife Holly and dog Bizzy. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, politics, coaching basketball, biking, piano, golf, travel and attending sporting events. Tom counts himself among the fortunate few who have made a career out of their passion.
